Job summary

Visy, Australia’s leading recycled and kraft paper manufacturer, is hiring an Electrical Technician to maintain electrical systems across our high-speed pulp and paper plant in New South Wales. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation and control systems to support reliability and safety.

This role requires an A Grade Electrical Licence, experience in heavy industrial environments, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work with

Qualifications

  • A Grade Electrical Licence is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, VSDs, MCCs and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and plant assets.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and condition monitoring of plant equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise plant performance.
  • Participate in breakdown response and after-hours call-out activities as required.
  • Be available for standby/on-call duties on a 1-in-4-week roster.

About The Opportunity

As an Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical systems across our high-speed pulp and paper manufacturing plant.

  • Shift Details: Day shift (Monday to Friday)
  • Pay Details: $60ph + OT
What You'll Do
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and plant assets.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and condition monitoring of plant equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise plant performance.
  • Participate in breakdown response and after-hours call-out activities as required.

What You Will Bring
  • A Grade Electrical Licence
  • Experience within a manufacturing, pulp and paper, FMCG, packaging, recycling, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, motor control centres (MCCs), and industrial automation systems.
