Job summary

SHAPE Australia invites you to join a Site Cadet Program that pays you from day one while you learn on live fitout and construction projects. You will gain a fully funded Certificate IV in Building and Construction and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, plus First Aid certification, with 2–3 years of structured on-site training under experienced Site Managers.

You will build practical skills, contribute to safe site practices, and develop a clear pathway into a long-term career in site

Qualifications

• You’ve got work experience in any industry; reliability and punctuality are key.
• Year 12 (or equivalent) and a current driver’s licence; willing to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Help run site inductions and safety checks.
• Coordinate deliveries and keep subcontractors on track.
• Keep site records and documentation up to date.
• Walk the site with your Site Manager and learn what good looks like.
• Help keep the site clean, safe and organised.

This is your opportunity to get your foot in the door as part of SHAPE's first Site Cadet Program.

We've created this program as a pathway into construction for people who have demonstrated work experience, are commitment to learn and develop new skills, can work in teams and are motivated to build a pathway into Site Management.

We'll pay you to learn, fund your qualifications and put you on live projects alongside people who want to see you succeed. All you need to bring is your work ethic and the right attitude.

What you'll get

• A full-time, paid role from day one

What a typical week looks like

You'll be on site, learning how a project comes together from start to finish. You might:

• Help run site inductions and safety checks

• Keep site records and documentation up to date
• Walk the site with your Site Manager and learn what good looks like
• Help keep the site clean, safe and organised

Some days start early and some days are physical, but every day you'll learn something new.

Who we're looking for

You've got work experience, and it doesn't matter which industry it's in. You're the person others rely on: you turn up on time, follow through on what you say and get on well with people. You'll also be:

• Reliable, organised and good at managing your time
• Confident talking with customers, colleagues and contractors
• Serious about safety, for yourself and the people around you
• Keen to learn and build a long-term career in construction

You’ll need Year 12 (or equivalent), a current driver's licence (you'll travel between sites) and to be available full time.
