Job summary

SHAPE Australia is launching its first Site Cadet Program in Western Australia, offering a paid pathway into construction and site management. You’ll learn on live projects, supported by experienced Site Managers, while earning qualifications and progressing your career.

You’ll join a full-time role from day one, with structured training, safety focus and opportunities to advance, aimed at building a long-term career in construction with SHAPE.

Qualifications

• You have work experience and a strong reliability and time-management focus.
• You are able to work in a team, follow through on commitments and communicate clearly.
• You are keen to learn, safe, and motivated to build a long-term career in construction.
• Year 12 (or equivalent) and a current driver's licence are required.

• Help run site inductions and safety checks.
• Coordinate deliveries and keep subcontractors on track.
• Keep site records and documentation up to date.
• Walk the site with the Site Manager to learn best practices.
• Help keep the site clean, safe and organised.

We’ve created this program as a pathway into construction for people who have demonstrated work experience, are commitment to learn and develop new skills, can work in teams and are motivated to build a pathway into Site Management.

We'll pay you to learn, fund your qualifications and put you on live projects alongside people who want to see you succeed. All you need to bring is your work ethic and the right attitude.

What you'll get

• A full-time, paid role from day one
• A fully funded Certificate IV in Building and Construction and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, plus First Aid certification
• 2 to 3 years of structured training on live fitout and construction projects
• Experienced Site Managers who'll show you how it's done
• A clear pathway into a long-term career in site management

What a typical week looks like

You'll be on site, learning how a project comes together from start to finish. You might:

• Help run site inductions and safety checks
• Coordinate deliveries and keep subcontractors on track
• Keep site records and documentation up to date
• Walk the site with your Site Manager and learn what good looks like
• Help keep the site clean, safe and organised

Some days start early and some days are physical, but every day you'll learn something new.

Who we're looking for

You've got work experience, and it doesn't matter which industry it's in. You're the person others rely on: you turn up on time, follow through on what you say and get on well with people. You'll also be:

• Reliable, organised and good at managing your time
• Confident talking with customers, colleagues and contractors
• Serious about safety, for yourself and the people around you
• Keen to learn and build a long-term career in construction

You’ll need Year 12 (or equivalent), a current driver's licence (you’ll travel between sites) and to be available full time.
