Job summary

BYD Campbelltown is expanding its state-of-the-art workshop in Australia and is seeking a qualified Service Technician to join our EV-focused team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles, diagnose issues with modern diagnostic equipment, and help deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, has strong problem-solving and teamwork skills, and is eager to learn EV technology

Qualifications

• Fully qualified automotive mechanic with Certificate III or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with modern vehicle systems; EV experience is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and a team player mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out inspections, road tests, and fault finding.
• Complete service documentation with accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workshop, while delivering quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out inspections, road tests, and fault finding
• Complete service documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, with a strong focus on safety and quality
• Keep up to date with BYD’s latest service procedures and technology (EV training provided)
• Collaborate with service advisors and workshop staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Maintain a clean, organised and compliant workshop environment

Requirements:

• Fully qualified automotive mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with modern vehicle systems (EV experience a plus, but not essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Good communication skills and a team player mindset
