BYD Windsor is seeking a Service Technician to join our growing team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and complete thorough service documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping. As part of a forward‑looking EV brand, you will receive EV-specific training, work in a modern workshop, and collaborate with service advisors to deliver efficient service.

Qualifications

• Qualified automotive mechanic with Certificate III or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with modern vehicle systems; EV experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles per manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out inspections, road tests, and fault finding.
• Complete service documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out inspections, road tests, and fault finding
• Complete service documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, with a strong focus on safety and quality
• Keep up to date with BYD’s latest service procedures and technology (EV training provided)
• Collaborate with service advisors and workshop staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Maintain a clean, organised and compliant workshop environment

Requirements

• Fully qualified automotive mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities
• Experience with modern vehicle systems (EV experience a plus, but not essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Good communication skills and a team player mindset
• Valid Australian driver’s licence
