Job summary

NQ Diesel, a family-owned independent workshop in Garbutt near Townsville, seeks a Service Advisor / Shop Administrator to join the team. You will be the face of the front office, bridging workshop and customers with service advice, invoicing, and parts coordination.

Ideal candidates have automotive service experience or are trainable, with strong communication and organizational skills to thrive in a busy workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as automotive service advisor is highly regarded, but we will train the right person.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to handle a busy workshop environment.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn workshop management software.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients, booking in vehicles, and providing empathetic, clear updates throughout the repair process.
• Translating technical feedback from our mechanics into clear, easy-to-understand explanations and estimates for customers.
• Ordering parts from suppliers promptly and assisting the team to manage the daily workflow.
• Processing invoices, handling payments, answering phone enquiries, and maintaining accurate service records.

We are now looking for an organized, Service Advisor / Shop Administrator to join our close-knit team.

The Role

As the face of our front office, you will bridge the gap between our workshop floor and our valued customers. This is a dynamic role combining customer service, service advising, and general workshop administration.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Customer Service: Welcoming clients, booking in vehicles, and providing empathetic, clear updates throughout the repair process.
• Service Advising: Translating technical feedback from our mechanics into clear, easy-to-understand explanations and estimates for customers.
• Parts & Workflow: Ordering parts from suppliers promptly and assisting the team to manage the daily workflow.
• Administration: Processing invoices, handling payments, answering phone enquiries, and maintaining accurate service records.
