Job summary

Marcoola Tyre & Mechanical is seeking a Service Advisor / Automotive Technical Advisor to work alongside the Office Manager and workshop team. This hands-on role combines customer service with technical support, helping technicians and ensuring jobs move smoothly from quote to completion.

You will interpret technician findings, explain repairs to customers in clear terms, assist with job allocation and workshop workflow, and provide guidance to apprentices.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background and industry experience.
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle systems, repairs and servicing.
• Able to assess and quote larger mechanical repairs.
• Translate technician findings into clear customer recommendations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quoting and estimating larger and more complex mechanical jobs.
• Use mechanical knowledge to identify additional repairs and maintenance requirements.
• Explain mechanical issues and recommended repairs to customers clearly.
• Support technicians with technical advice and assistance when required.
• Help technicians diagnose and work through more difficult jobs.
• Review technician findings and help determine the best repair approach.
• Assist with job allocation and workshop workflow.
• Check jobs are progressing efficiently and help keep technicians productive.
• Assist with parts identification and communicate parts requirements to the office manager.
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices.
