Job summary

Versatile Group is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to partner with operational leaders and drive safety excellence on large residential and mixed-use developments in Sydney. This site-based role reports to the WHSE leadership team and involves close collaboration with Construction Managers, Project Managers, and subcontractors to Foster a proactive safety culture.

Candidate should have 5+ years in WHS/WHSE within construction, strong NSW WHS knowledge, and proven ability to influence teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a WHS/WHSE role within the construction industry.
• Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to influence project teams and drive positive safety outcomes.
• Experience conducting investigations, audits and compliance activities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• ICAM investigation experience highly regarded.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach to safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide WHS leadership across major construction projects.
• Partner with project teams to drive safety performance and accountability.
• Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, including corrective actions.
• Support risk management, project planning and safe work practices.
• Analyse safety performance trends and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coach and mentor supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
• Deliver safety training, initiatives and awareness programs.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of WHSE systems and procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality and operational excellence.
