Job summary

TradeConnex in Sydney is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our on-site team across multiple construction projects. This hands-on role involves travelling between sites, conducting inspections, inductions, and supporting project teams with risk assessments and incident investigations.

You will build strong relationships with site teams and subcontractors while maintaining high safety standards and contributing to continuous HSE improvements across the business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Safety Advisor or WHS role within construction
• Experience on commercial/residential/high-rise or major construction projects
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and construction safety requirements
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Strong understanding of SWMS, risk assessments and incident management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to travel between Sydney project sites
• Current WHS qualifications and drivers licence

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety support across multiple construction projects throughout Sydney
• Travel between project sites to conduct inspections, audits, safety observations and compliance checks
• Conduct site inductions for employees, subcontractors and visitors
• Support project teams with risk assessments, SWMS, incident investigations and corrective actions
• Monitor site safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Provide practical safety advice, coaching and guidance to site teams
• Deliver safety education and toolbox talks where required
• Promote a positive safety culture through regular engagement with employees and subcontractors
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
• Assist with injury management and return-to-work processes where required
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports and compliance documentation
• Build strong working relationships with project teams and key stakeholders across multiple sites

The Opportunity An established and highly regarded Australian construction company is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join their Sydney team.

This is a great opportunity for a Safety Advisor who enjoys being out on site rather than sitting behind a desk. You will support a number of active construction projects across Sydney, travelling between sites and working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.

With multiple projects running at any one time, no two days will look the same. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships across different project teams while playing a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety across the business.

About the Role As a Safety Advisor, you will:

About You

You will be an experienced Safety Advisor who is confident working in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys being hands-on across multiple projects.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Safety Advisor, WHS Advisor or HSE Advisor role within construction
• Experience working across commercial, residential, high-rise or major construction projects
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and construction safety requirements
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Strong understanding of SWMS, risk assessments and incident management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The confidence to engage with Site Managers, subcontractors and project teams
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to safety
• Relevant WHS qualifications
• A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between Sydney project sites
