Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor for North Shore, Sydney, to provide day-to-day HSE support across active construction projects. You’ll work closely with the HSE Manager and help develop the HSE function on flagship sites.

The role focuses on building strong relationships with site teams and subcontractors, guiding HSE processes, incident investigations and corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and Australian Standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in an HSE role within the Class 2 / residential construction space.
• Previous experience working for a head contractor is essential.
• Strong understanding of WHS/OH&S legislation and Australian Standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE support across active construction projects.
• Build strong relationships with employees, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Manage and develop HSE processes and initiatives across projects.
• Assist with incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and support around HSE legislation and compliance.
• Maintain a strong understanding of Australian Standards and applicable legislation.
• Promote a positive and proactive HSE culture across the project.
