Job summary

Aurecon in Queensland seeks a Lead Civil Engineer to drive the design and delivery of water infrastructure across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. You will shape project strategy, lead multidisciplinary teams and provide trusted client guidance from feasibility to commissioning.

Based in Brisbane or Maroochydore, you will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and build strong relationships with utilities, councils and partners to deliver safe, reliable water networks.

Qualifications

• Relevant civil engineering qualification and substantial experience leading design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure
• Strong capability in civil design and hydraulic analysis for water and wastewater networks, pipelines, treatment facilities and related infrastructure
• Experience across several stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept development through detailed design and delivery
• Solid understanding of design assurance, safety in design, regulatory obligations and Australian water industry standards
• Chartered Professional Engineer status and RPEQ registration are desirable, or a commitment and clear pathway to achieving them
• Collaborative, client-focused leadership style with credibility to influence senior stakeholders and coordinate diverse disciplines

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil design of major water and wastewater pipelines, treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage systems and associated infrastructure
• Set the technical direction on complex projects with senior-level judgement and design leadership
• Guide projects through feasibility, options assessment, concept and detailed design, with support for construction and commissioning
• Apply relevant Australian standards and water industry requirements (WSA codes, SEQ Code)
• Mentor engineers and designers, review technical work and foster a collaborative learning culture
• Build trusted relationships with Queensland water utilities, local councils, government agencies and contractor partners to deliver resilient, cost-effective solutions
