Job summary

Aurecon Group is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure projects in NSW. The role involves technical oversight of pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets, and mentoring engineers across a national network.

You will influence project delivery from planning through to detailed design and delivery, while developing client relationships and contributing to bids and business development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong background in water infrastructure: pumps, valves, mechanical systems, treatment and supply infrastructure.
• Experience in a consulting or project delivery environment.
• Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical oversight across pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets.
• Support projects across the full lifecycle—from planning and concept design to detailed design and delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Work closely with clients, building strong and trusted relationships.
• Contribute to bids, proposals and business development.
• Collaborate across interstate teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive technical excellence and continuously improve delivery standards.
