Job summary

African Underground Mining Services is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for our Australian operations. The role supports site project managers and mine foremen on technical issues, interpreting mining data and site costs, and coordinating with client technical services.

Requirements include a mining engineering degree, 5+ years underground experience, and relevant certificates. The position offers a 6 weeks on/4 weeks off FIFO roster and opportunities within a Tier 1 mining contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
• Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or FCMM.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years underground mining experience.
• Experience in high productivity underground contracting environments.
• In-depth knowledge of MinRep, Deswick and Surpac.
• International Drivers’ Licence.
• Proactive safety mindset and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HS&E policies, reports hazards and incidents promptly.
• Complies with Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
• Ensures safety and correct operation of equipment and controls.
• Assists with budget preparation and monthly claims.
• Performs production monitoring and monthly performance reporting.
• Supports site project managers and client interface.
