Job summary

AUMS is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to support African operations on a 6 weeks on/4 weeks off roster. The role focuses on technical mining issues, site costs, and integration with client technical services. Requires substantial underground experience and strong safety leadership.

Responsibilities include cost reduction, production monitoring, monthly reporting, and claims preparation. The candidate should mentor junior engineers and collaborate with site management to meet client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering is required.
• Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or FCMM is required.
• Senior First Aid Certificate is required.
• Experience in high productivity underground contracting environments is preferred.
• Member of a relevant professional body is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with HS&E policies and report hazards and accidents.
• Ensure mining plans and schedules align with contract requirements.
• Monitor production and cost data, report monthly.
• Prepare mining progress claims and liaise with client.
• Mentor graduates and vocational engineers.
• Design and implement reporting templates using MinRep/Deswick/Surpac.
