Job summary

Liverpool City Council seeks a Senior Transport Engineer to develop a safe, efficient local transport system across all modes in the Liverpool LGA, focusing on road space management for accessible travel and leadership in multi‑modal design.

This permanent, full‑time role is 35 hours over 5 days, with a salary range of $116,341 to $127,481 plus 12% super and a leaseback vehicle/allowance. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Provide traffic and transport management to achieve sustainable outcomes.
• Support timely delivery of traffic and transport infrastructure programs.
• Advise on traffic and road safety issues and prepare reports.
• Represent Council in community forums on traffic, transport and road safety.
• Ensure approvals for road permits, closures and traffic requirements.

• Lead the operation of traffic and transport management functions.
• Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders on projects.
• Analyse transport data and prepare technical reports for decision-making.
• Manage program delivery and design investigation processes.
