Job summary

Willoughby City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Engineer to support safe, efficient movement of people and goods across our local road transport network. Join a team delivering complex traffic, parking and road safety initiatives in a growing urban environment.

The role reports to the Traffic and Parking Team Leader and requires tertiary qualifications in civil/traffic/transport engineering, at least five years of experience, and proven ability to manage projects,

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil/traffic/transport engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in transport and traffic engineering.
• Knowledge of multi-modal transport systems.
• Experience in parking management and active transport.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transport studies and develop strategies and business cases.
• Deliver projects across traffic management, road safety and active transport.
• Engage consultants and manage tenders and delivery.
• Provide technical advice on development applications and active transport programs.
• Prepare briefings and recommendations for leadership.
