Job summary

Square Australia is seeking a Senior Third-Party Risk & Outsourcing Program Manager to lead the design, operation, and enhancement of third-party risk, outsourcing, and network compliance programs. The role focuses on safeguarding Square and its partners while enabling safe growth in a fully remote position based in Australia.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in third-party risk management within financial services, payments, fintech, or regulated tech environments.
• Strong understanding of outsourcing and vendor management in Australia.
• Experience supporting compliance outsourcing arrangements and managing third-party service providers.
• Familiarity with network or scheme compliance requirements and attestations.
• Demonstrated experience designing, operating, or enhancing third-party and outsourcing risk frameworks.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, influencing outcomes without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate Square Australia’s third-party risk management framework, covering onboarding, due diligence, ongoing monitoring, issue management, and offboarding.
• Support and enhance the compliance outsourcing program, ensuring outsourced activities are governed, monitored, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
• Design and maintain risk-based processes to assess and manage risks arising from vendors, partners, and outsourced service providers.
• Continuously improve third-party and outsourcing frameworks to stay scalable and fit for purpose as the business evolves.
• Partner with Legal, Procurement, Risk, and Compliance to ensure contractual protections and governance controls are in place.
• Provide clear, practical, and risk-based advice to enable partnerships and outsourcing arrangements to proceed safely.
• Support network compliance programs, including obligations from payment networks and schemes, with certifications and attestations.
• Coordinate risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, and issue remediation with clear ownership and timely resolution.
• Prepare reporting for senior leadership and governance committees on third-party, outsourcing, and network risks.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Legal, and Risk to embed third-party and outsourcing risk into day-to-day practices.
• Mentor and uplift capability across the team to ensure consistent risk management practices.
