Job summary

Vertiv in Sydney seeks a Senior Application Engineer - Thermal to lead the design and optimization of data center cooling solutions. You will own technical proposals for CRAC, CRAH, and chilled water systems, guiding bids and customer engagements with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

You will collaborate with sales, product teams, and procurement, deliver accurate heat load calculations, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• University/College Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred Refrigeration or HVAC emphasis).
• 3–5 years’ experience in related application & technical field, ideally with Data Center / CRAC units.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in design and application of data center thermal infrastructure.
• Lead complex thermal solution development and bid submissions.
• Perform cooling capacity calculations and equipment sizing.
• Review heat load calculations and airflow management strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
