Job summary

Optus Enterprise is seeking a Solution Architect in Macquarie Park, Sydney to shape IP network architecture across mobile core, voice core and broader telecom platforms. Lead design, documentation and implementation from strategy to delivery, collaborating with customers, vendors and internal IP teams.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in IP network engineering with leadership, deep routing and switching expertise, and hands-on automation experience (Ansible/Netconf).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Master’s or CCNP/CCIE highly regarded.
• 5+ years IP network engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SR-MPLS, SR-TE, RSVP-TE, LDP, SRv6, EVPN, IPVPN, L2VPN, QoS, and traffic engineering.
• Experience with BNG, CGNAT, Telco Cloud Connect edge routers, data-centre fabrics and firewalls (on‑prem and hybrid cloud).
• Broad telecom architecture knowledge across MOCN, 5G private networks, VoLTE/VoWiFi/VoNR, IMS, 3G/4G, RAN, plus hands-on with Ansible, Netconf/YANG.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design IP network solutions for mobile core and related platforms.
• Develop routing/switching roadmaps and solution strategies for scalable, secure IP connectivity.
• Lead design and onboarding of new IP devices/topologies with automation.
• Act as SME for routing/switching; provide direction during reviews and incidents.
• Collaborate with customers, project teams, vendors to gather requirements and document solutions.
• Assess projects, plans and budgets; manage technical risks and escalate when needed.
