Job summary

Optus is seeking a Principal Technical Specialist, Telco IP Core, to shape the architectural direction of our Telco IP Core and IP Modernisation programs. You’ll provide technical leadership across Network Engineering and represent the function in cross-functional forums.

This strategic individual contributor role influences internal teams and external partners, aligning with regulatory requirements and industry best practice while driving the long-term evolution of our Telco IP Core network.

Qualifications

• Extensive IP core network engineering experience.
• Leadership experience on large engineering projects.
• Experience developing architectural standards and guidelines.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE; CCNP/CCIE desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive architectural guidelines for the Telco IP Core.
• Chair governance boards ensuring alignment with architecture principles.
• Represent Network Engineering in cross-functional forums.
• Provide Tier-3 guidance for high-impact issues.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to playbooks and communities.
