UNSW is seeking a Technical Officer/Senior Technical Officer to support teaching and research laboratories. You will identify equipment needs, commission and maintain specialised gear, and manage user access and training to ensure safe, effective operation.

Working with academic and technical staff, you will help implement WHS policies, support compliance, and contribute to risk management. This on-site role is based in Kensington, Sydney, with progression from Level 6 to Level 7.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in electrical engineering with strong fundamental knowledge in Signal Processing and Control.
• Experience applying signal processing and control concepts to practical system design.
• Proficient computing skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of hazards and ability to write safe working procedures and manage risks.
• Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced skills in Matlab, LabVIEW and Python.
• Ability to train students and staff in equipment and safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Identify teaching and research requirements and facilitate equipment commissioning and maintenance.
• Manage user access and training for specialised equipment in teaching and research labs.
• Support WHS compliance and help implement policies and procedures with the HSE team.
