Job summary

Dignity Ltd is hiring a Senior Support Worker for a Temporary Accommodation site in Carramar. This permanent part-time role (20 hours) runs 1pm–5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will lead a team of Support Workers, support guests experiencing homelessness, and help with accommodation processes and essential daily tasks. The role requires at least 2 years of leadership experience, knowledge of the homelessness sector, and certifications such as Working with Children Check and DV Aware.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams in challenging environments.
  • Strong knowledge of housing and homelessness sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ensure guest safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision to Support Workers.
  • Assist management with training, feedback and performance.
  • Contribute to quality improvements for staff and guests.
  • Monitor guest safety and wellbeing; manage reports.
  • Ensure WHS documentation is completed promptly.
  • Assist guests to find suitable accommodation and complete rental paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness and replenish supplies; manage records and admin tasks.

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to lead a team at a Temporary Accommodation site in Carramar.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Team Leader and provide day-to-day supervision to Support Workers under management direction
  • Support the management team with operational training, feedback and Support Worker performance
  • Commit to continuous quality improvement to ensure ongoing well-being for staff and guests
  • Monitor guest safety and well-being include MRG and ROSH reports
  • Ensure WHS documentation is completed in a timely manner
  • In conjunction with Support Workers:
  • Assist our guests to find suitable accommodation
  • Assist guests to complete private rental applications and other documentation
  • Ensure a continuous high level of cleanliness including cleaning bathrooms, floors, and kitchen daily, and changing bed linen
  • Monitor food, care packs, and supplies, and replenish as necessary via our Distribution Centre
  • Complete intake forms and other administration tasks as directed
  • Update database and maintain records
What you'll need
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in similar role, leading teams in challenging situations
  • Strong knowledge of the Housing and Homelessness sector
  • Current employment Working with Children Check
  • DV Aware Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Time management, problem-solving skills, and initiative
  • Personal maturity, common sense, and self-awareness
  • Proven capacity to manage professional boundaries
  • An eye for detail and ability to clean to Dignity standards
  • Able to listen respectfully to our guests
  • The capacity to work with dignity at all times
  • Current Drivers Licence and own vehicle

Location: Carramar

Position: Permanent Part Time | 1pm to 5pm | Monday to Friday
