Job summary

Rocky Bay is seeking a Lead Support Worker to join our Supported Accommodation team in Duncraig, WA. This hands-on leadership role supports customers with high and complex care needs while guiding the on-shift team to maintain standards and deliver person-centred care.

You will lead by example in Active Support, ensure high-quality care, effective handovers and professional conduct, and work to build positive, proactive team relationships.

• Confidence with manual handling and hoist transfers.

Salary: $40.00 - $41.66 per hour + Salary Packaging
Employment: Permanent Part-Time (75 hours per fortnight)
Location: Duncraig

Rocky Bay is looking for a Lead Support Worker to join our Supported Accommodation team in Duncraig.

This is a hands‑on leadership role supporting customers with high and complex care needs, while providing direction and support to the team. When the Team Leader isn’t onsite, you’ll be the senior point of support on shift — helping the team navigate challenges, maintain standards and deliver consistent, person‑centred support.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the shift, providing direction and support to permanent, casual and agency staff.
• Be a trusted point of guidance for the team and help maintain high standards of practice.
• Lead by example in Active Support, customer care, documentation and professional conduct.
• Provide constructive feedback, respectfully address concerns and speak up when practice isn’t meeting expectations.
• Use initiative and sound judgement to resolve issues and recognise when matters need to be escalated.
• Provide clear handovers to the Team Leader regarding customer, incident or staff concerns requiring follow‑up.
• Support customers with high and complex care needs, including PEGs, catheters, medication and complex seizure management.
• Confidently undertake manual handling, including hoists, wheelchairs, transfers and positioning.

You’re a confident leader who leads from the floor. You know how to support your team, make good decisions and maintain a calm, positive environment — even when things don’t go to plan.

• Strong leadership capability, with the confidence to provide direction, feedback and guidance to others.
• Excellent communication, judgement and problem‑solving skills.
• Confidence with manual handling and hoist transfers.
