Job summary

SAGE Automation, a Tetra Tech company, Australia’s leading independent industrial automation and control systems integrator, is seeking a capable leader for our National Operations Centre (NOC) to plan works and provide technical support to internal and external customers.

Lead a skilled team delivering installation, maintenance and fault-finding on PLC, SCADA and HMI systems, while mentoring staff and ensuring safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree with at least 3 years of proven experience working as a Technician.
• Alternatively, candidates with at least 5 years working in Automation with experience of SCADA, PLC, HMI (Ideally Siemens) and Industrial Networks will also be considered.
• Previous team leadership and on-call experience will be highly regarded.
• Verifiable knowledge of good engineering principles and practices.
• Proven experience of fault finding with a 'can-do' attitude to deliver solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to discuss complex technical solutions and concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You will ideally be located in Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane, and must be capable of passing a Government background and security check.

Responsibilities

Showcase your leadership skills within our National Operations Centre (NOC) to plan assigned works and provide technical support to both internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for leading a highly skilled technical team within the NOC, providing support for engineering and technical tasks on complex Service works. You will carry out and support the delivery of services including minor works, repairs and preventative maintenance on PLC, SCADA and HMI equipment and software for clients of SAGE, always conforming to the established methods, policies and procedures, and the technical, quality and safety standards expected at SAGE.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage the remote delivery of specialised and complex installation and maintenance projects for electrical control systems and equipment, throughout different phases of a projects lifecycle.

• Be required to plan and organise your time and that of your team, to effectively complete assigned works and provide technical support to the Service Team, when escalation events occur.

• Ensure that all support shall be delivered in a manner which ensures SAGE’s reputation and credibility is maintained through the provision of a professional and efficient service.

• Be comfortable and confident with working independently and being self-managed.

• Develop your team through ongoing training and mentoring, ensuring succession plans are in place and a quality service is provided at all times.

About you:
