Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer in Australia to deliver and check designs to MRWA standards. You will lead design elements across concept, preliminary, detailed and IFC stages, coordinating with geotechnical, drainage, road design and construction teams.

You will mentor graduates and mid‑level engineers, liaise with clients and authorities, and participate in design reviews and safety‑in‑design workshops.

Qualifications

• Typically 8–12 years’ experience in bridge/heavy civil structural design.
• Sound knowledge of MRWA standards and submission processes.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SpaceGass, Strand7, LUSAS, Midas).
• CPEng or near-chartered with Engineers Australia.
• Strong communication skills and attention to design quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and check bridge and structural designs in accordance with MRWA standards.
• Lead design elements across concept, preliminary, detailed and IFC stages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, drainage, road design, construction).
• Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and safety‑in‑design workshops.
• Mentor and support graduate and mid‑level engineers.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and approval authorities.
