Job summary

Join AECOM in Western Australia as a Civil/Structural engineer focused on bridge and heavy civil projects. You will apply Australian Standards (AS 5100) and MRWA requirements, perform analyses and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, durable designs.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, engaging with clients and authorities, and contributing to project delivery with a strong emphasis on quality and risk management. Flexible hours and hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3–7 years of bridge or heavy civil structural design experience.
• Experience in an engineering consultancy.
• MRWA standards familiarity (desirable).
• Experience with structural analysis and design software SpaceGass, Strand7, LUSAS or Midas.
• Progressing toward Chartered (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia.
• Strong communication skills with attention to detail and commitment to design quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering bridge and structural designs per AS 5100, Austroads, MRWA standards.
• Prepare engineering deliverables: calculations, reports, documentation, drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to design development from concept to detailed design stages.
• Coordinate with Geotechnical, drainage, road design, and construction teams.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability discussions, and safety-in-design.
• Work under guidance of senior engineers and project managers to meet objectives.
• Assist with client and stakeholder interactions as required.
