Job summary

AECOM in Western Australia is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to contribute to the planning, design and delivery of bridge and civil structures projects. You will apply Australian Standards (AS 5100) and MRWA guidelines, perform structural analysis and prepare technical documentation, drawings and reports in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3–7 years’ experience in bridge or heavy civil structural design.
• Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Familiarity with MRWA standards and approval processes (desirable).
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand7, LUSAS, or Midas).
• Progressing toward Chartered (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia.
• Strong communication skills, with attention to detail and commitment to design quality

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of bridge and structural designs in accordance with AS 5100, Austroads, and MRWA standards.
• Prepare engineering deliverables, including: Design calculations and reports; Technical documentation; Construction drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to design development across concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
• Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including Geotechnical, drainage, road design, and construction disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability discussions, and safety-in-design processes.
• Work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers to meet project objectives.
• Assist with client and stakeholder interactions as required.
