Job summary

BHP's Olympic Dam operation in South Australia seeks a Senior Specialist Structural Engineer to maintain integrity of critical assets and lead defect management of concrete and steel structures. You will apply engineering judgement, review drawings, and support safe, reliable operations across the site.

You will review inspection data, conduct field assessments, prepare technical reports and collaborate with maintenance and operations to translate findings into effective actions.

Qualifications

• Chartered Structural Engineer status recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Strong experience in structural and civil engineering, including concrete/steel inspections.
• Knowledge of structural design, commissioning, maintenance and operations.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent written communication and defect reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain structural integrity and safety of critical Olympic Dam assets.
• Lead inspection, maintenance and defect management of concrete/steel structures.
• Review drawings, evaluate inspection data and field assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain defect records.
• Prioritise remediation, assign risk rankings and support maintenance planning.
• Promote health and safety, and drive continuous improvement.
