Job summary

BHP Group in Adelaide seeks a Principal Engineer Civil & Structural to lead civil/structural engineering across Copper SA operations, including Olympic Dam, Carrapateena and Prominent Hill. You will set engineering standards, guide asset integrity decisions and support safe, reliable plant performance.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, extensive mining industry experience, and proven ability to influence across functions, with a Monday–Friday roster and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia.
• Extensive mining/processing or heavy industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as civil and structural authority across Copper SA operations, providing guidance on structural integrity.
• Lead designs, deviations, and fitness-for-service assessments.
• Own and improve civil/structural standards, governance, and risk management.
