Job summary

Giannitto Family Hotels is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at Giannitto Family Hotels in Gawler, SA. This full-time role supports the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, prepares and cooks high-quality dishes to the menu, and upholds strict food safety standards.

You will assist with menu planning, stock management and budgeting, while leading and mentoring the kitchen team to maintain a positive, collaborative environment and drive innovation in menu items.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef/Cook, preferably in a 2IC or senior role.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes to the hotel's menu specifications.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times.
• Assist with menu planning, stock management and budgeting.
• Lead and mentor the kitchen team, providing training and support as needed.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items.
• Ensure a positive and collaborative working environment in the kitchen.
