Job summary

Latitude IT is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid work options. You'll work on a market-leading platform in a collaborative product engineering team, across Python, C++, and React, contributing to APIs and complex systems.

You will own features from design to production, emphasize automated testing and scalable architectures, and mentor junior engineers. Financial services domain experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in Python and/or C++
• Experience with React or other modern frontend technologies
• Experience building and integrating APIs and complex software applications
• Strong understanding of automated testing and software quality practices
• Experience with CI/CD, source control and modern engineering practices
• Knowledge of software architecture and designing systems for scale
• Experience in Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable software
• Work across Python and C++ backend with some frontend React work
• Contribute across multiple products and APIs
• Own work from design through deployment and production support
• Build quality into development via automated testing and practices
• Contribute to architecture, clean code and scalable solutions
• Collaborate with product, requirements and support teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and share knowledge
• Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture
