Job summary

Australian Payments Plus, based in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build secure, scalable software that powers Australia’s payments infrastructure. You’ll influence architecture, work across teams, and champion modern engineering practices including AI-assisted tooling.

You’ll collaborate with product, architecture and QA, mentor engineers, and drive best-practice across CI/CD, cloud-native apps, and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with software development using Java, TypeScript or C#.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience delivering complex software solutions in a Senior Software Engineer or similar role.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems, APIs and cloud-native applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable software solutions.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex software components, APIs and distributed systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold engineering standards.
