Job summary

University of New South Wales – Kensington NSW is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Security Operations and Parking. This full-time, on-site role drives safety, resilience and operational excellence across UNSW’s Kensington and Sydney metro campuses.

You will oversee security services, parking operations, governance and incident readiness, reporting to the Director of Protective Services. A NSW Security Licence and a strong leadership background are essential.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in security operations within a large, complex organisation.
• Must hold a current NSW Security Licence (1A/2A).
• Experience leading responses to complex or high-risk security incidents, with ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Proven track record delivering projects and driving service improvements.
• Strong contractor management, KPI oversight and service delivery outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail in reports and briefings.
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work autonomously.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to operational managers and foster a high-performing team culture.
• Deliver expert, timely advice to senior leadership on threats and risks.
• Manage contracted guarding and security services across Sydney metro campuses.
• Oversee parking services governance, operations and safety compliance.
• Lead responses to significant incidents and coordinate stakeholder briefings.
• Drive budget planning, forecasting and financial risk management.
• Build relationships with senior leaders and drive continuous improvements.
