Job summary

The NSW Department of Education invites applications for a Senior School Social Media Adviser based in Parramatta. You will lead social media support for NSW public schools, including account setup, recovery, security and moderation, and build strong relationships with schools and key stakeholders to deliver high‑quality support.

You’ll oversee a team delivering expert advice, practical guidance and training to strengthen schools’ social media capability, help manage sensitive issues, and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in social media management and community moderation.
• Current and valid Driver Licence and willingness to travel between work sites
• Current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance for paid employment
• Commitment to the Department’s values and public education

Responsibilities

• Lead social media support for NSW public schools, including account setup, recovery, security and moderation.
• Manage sensitive social media issues, including harmful content, impersonation, privacy breaches and escalations.
• Develop practical policy guidance, training and resources to help schools manage social media safely and effectively.
• Build strong relationships with schools and key stakeholders to deliver responsive, high-quality support.
