Job summary

Westgold Resources Limited is seeking a Principal Safety Systems & Improvement based in Perth on a Monday to Friday roster. You will lead safety systems governance and continuous improvement, work with operational leaders across sites, and drive compliance and safety performance improvements to support a major Australian gold producer.

The role reports to the Group Manager Safety & Training and requires strong strategic and hands-on capabilities in safety management, audits, and change

Qualifications

• Significant experience in safety systems, governance or continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles.
• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or another high-risk environment.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading organisational change and business improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development and ongoing improvement of the Safety Management System.
• Driving safety governance, assurance and compliance programs.
• Monitoring legislative requirements and translating them into practical business processes.
• Developing and maintaining safety standards, procedures and supporting documentation.
• Analysing safety performance data and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Leading audits, reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting operational leaders to strengthen safety capability and performance.
• Preparing reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
