Job summary

Redpath is seeking a senior safety leader to drive safety performance across international underground mining projects. Based in Perth or Brisbane, you will report to the General Manager HSEQ and travel approximately two weeks per month to support project teams and mentor site personnel.

You will lead audits, investigations and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation while strengthening safety culture across dispersed operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent required.
• Extensive experience in underground mining operations.
• Senior OHS/HSE or Safety Advisor experience.
• Strong knowledge of risk management and safety management systems.
• Experience across multiple sites and travel internationally.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Ability to travel internationally regularly.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert OHS advice to international project teams.
• Support implementation and improvement of global HSE systems.
• Conduct audits, inspections and safety performance reviews.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Monitor compliance with legislation and client standards.
• Develop and review risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Mentor site leadership to strengthen safety culture.
• Analyze safety data to identify risk reduction opportunities.
• Support mobilization and contractor management.
• Collaborate with leaders to embed safety initiatives.
