Job summary

Qantas Airways in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to help deliver a cabin crew–facing application with robust testing strategies, offline-capable features, and secure device management.

You will work with a cross-functional product team to design, implement and improve test approaches, contribute to automation, and embed quality throughout the development lifecycle to ensure reliable, high-quality digital experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in enterprise QA with hands-on mobile app and API testing.
• Experience testing with iOS MDM devices.
• Manual testing and contribution to automation efforts.
• Strong API testing for RESTful services and integrations.
• Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, Charles or Proxyman.
• Experience in offline or low-connectivity environments.
• Xcode debugging and log analysis capability.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Understanding mobile app architecture and backend integrations.
• Ability to design and execute functional, regression and exploratory tests.
• Strong defect investigation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Promotion of quality best practices; mobile test automation helpful.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll contribute to the delivery of a cabin crew–facing application used during flight, where quality engineering is essential to ensuring a seamless experience in complex, real-world conditions. From offline-first functionality to intermittent connectivity and secure device management, you’ll help shape robust testing strategies that ensure the app performs reliably when it matters most.

You’ll work closely within a cross-functional product team to design, implement and continuously improve test approaches, while contributing to automation and ensuring quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.

You’ll have:

• 6+ years of experience in enterprise QA, with strong hands-on experience in mobile application and API testing
• Experience testing with iOS Mobile Device Management (MDM) devices
• Experience performing both manual testing and contributing to automation efforts where required
• Strong capability in API testing, including validating RESTful services and end-to-end integrations
• Familiarity with tools such as Postman, Swagger, Charles or Proxyman
• Experience testing applications in offline or low-connectivity environments
• Proficiency using Xcode for debugging, log analysis, and basic app investigation
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Understanding of mobile application architecture and backend integrations
• Ability to design and execute test cases, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
• Strong defect investigation and reporting skills, with attention to detail
• Experience working collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and designers in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to promote quality best practices
• Exposure to mobile test automation frameworks is beneficial but not essential
