Job summary

Qantas Airways in Adelaide invites a Senior Mobile Back-End Developer to lead architecture, delivery and development of scalable backend services at the new Product Innovation Centre. You will architect and build robust APIs, and own quality, reliability, and security in a hands-on role.

The role requires 6+ years in hands-on software engineering, with Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, AWS, CI/CD, and strong mentoring skills to guide junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional partners.

As aSenior MobileBack-End Developer,you'llbe responsible forguiding and leading the architecture, delivery and development of the software systems that power our business unit. Ahands-on, highly skilled software developer with the experience todive into codeto deliver high quality, well-designed software. You willshareresponsibilityfor the quality of the software being built, including but not limitedto;achieving desired business outcomes, meeting reliability and performance expectations and safely managing security and data privacy concerns.

You’llhave:

• 6+years'in a hands-on Software Engineering role
• Extensive experience in designing and buildingbackend APIs
• experience acrossKotlin(orJava),Spring Boot, AWS, Git,CI/CD,observabilityand monitoring tools such as Datadog and Splunk
• A real passion for quality, cleancodeand continuous improvement
• A strong understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design
• Highly dedicated ethos - expected to take very real accountability for the workyou'redoing
• Demonstrable ability to motivate self and others, and a passion to mentor junior developers
• Experience working with technical and non-technical partners, with the capability to influence
• A test and learn mindset with curiosity,collaborationand care
• Confidence with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
• Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code
• Experience with server-driven architectures will be well regarded
