Job summary

SAS Australia, Hybrid | Based in Canberra, is seeking a Sr Solutions Engineer to lead the ANZ Public Sector strategy, engage with senior stakeholders, and translate government needs into data-driven AI solutions.

You will drive growth across the Public Sector, partner with diverse teams, and deliver compelling proposals while ensuring security and alignment with SAS values. The role combines strategic influence with hands-on execution in a dynamic, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a business solutions consulting, industry advisory, or senior pre-sales role with exposure to data, analytics, AI/ML and digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the ANZ Public Sector landscape, priorities and trends.
• Proven ability to connect business priorities with technology solutions and articulate measurable business value.
• Executive presence and experience engaging with C-suite and senior government stakeholders.
• Expertise in value-based selling, solution positioning and influencing complex buying decisions.
• Experience with SAS platform and solutions is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead Industry Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that accelerate SAS growth across the ANZ Public Sector market.
• Act as a Trusted Advisor: Engage with senior business and technology leaders to understand challenges and shape data, analytics and AI solutions.
• Drive Business Growth: Translate industry trends into value propositions and growth opportunities; support account planning with sales teams.
• Partner for Success: Identify partner strategies to extend market reach and impact.
• Influence Strategic Opportunities: Support deal qualification, demand and bid management, and marketing activities.
• Lead Executive Proposals: Own SAS responses to RFPs/RFIs in ANZ Public Sector with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic Solution and Technology Selling: Lead presentations and demonstrations showcasing SAS capabilities and value; conduct technical discovery sessions.
• Ensure security policies are followed to support secure software development goals.
