Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager focused on water infrastructure in Australia’s Hunter region. You will lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs from planning through delivery, often spanning multi-million to AUD 1B+ values.

You will manage diverse stakeholders, governance, and teams in a collaborative, hybrid work environment, delivering projects that strengthen communities and support regional growth.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, with 10+ years’ experience in project management within major infrastructure environments (preference for Water industry).
• Demonstrated success delivering complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial, contract, cost, schedule, and risk management capability.
• Experience managing diverse stakeholder groups, including clients, contractors, consultants, and government agencies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and inspire project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects, ranging from multi-million-dollar programs to iconic projects exceeding AUD 1 billion.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure successful outcomes.
• Oversee governance, procurement, cost control, schedule, and risk management across the project lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement and stakeholder alignment to deliver community-centric outcomes.
