Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-value, complex capital works projects from inception to completion. You will oversee infrastructure, public domain, open space and community facility initiatives, coordinating with internal teams, contractors and government agencies.

You will drive planning, procurement, governance and stakeholder engagement while managing risks and budgets, mentoring staff and reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex capital works, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Proven experience managing major construction contracts, procurement and project risks.
• Strong financial management, contract administration and governance capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing project teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of major capital works projects across all phases.
• Manage complex contracts, procurement activities and contractor performance.
• Monitor budgets, cashflows, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Prepare reports, recommendations and briefings for senior management and decisionmakers.
• Manage stakeholder and community engagement for major projects.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to project staff.
