Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of high-value, complex capital works across infrastructure, building, public domain and open space projects from inception through to completion.

You will work with internal teams, contractors and government agencies to manage planning, procurement, contract administration and stakeholder engagement, while mentoring staff and ensuring projects meet budgets, risks and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex capital works, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Proven experience managing major construction contracts, procurement and project risks.
• Strong financial management, contract administration and governance capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing project teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of major capital works projects across all project phases.
• Manage complex construction contracts, procurement activities and contractor performance.
• Monitor project budgets, cashflows, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Prepare reports, recommendations and briefings for senior management and key decisionmakers.
• Manage stakeholder and community engagement associated with major projects.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to project staff.
