Job summary

Pathway Search is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the transition from build to run, overseeing the handover of IT operations from the incumbent build partner to the incoming operate partner. The role is based in Sydney or Melbourne with a 6-month renewable contract.

You will own the transition, design knowledge-transfer sessions, manage multi-vendor relationships, and drive both Agile and Waterfall delivery while reporting progress in Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications

• Proven senior PM delivering large-scale enterprise tech transformations.
• Experience with multi-vendor transitions (incumbent to incoming).
• Strong stakeholder relationship-building across onshore/offshore teams.
• Self-starter, proactive, works with ambiguity and limited handover docs.
• Comfortable driving process improvements in evolving delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the transition of IT Service and IT Operations including code repository handover and process transfer.
• Design, schedule, and run structured knowledge-transfer sessions between outgoing and incoming delivery partners.
• Define and scope the transition workplan where documentation or handover artifacts are incomplete or non-existent.
• Engage with stakeholders to capture lessons learned in previous migrations.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across onshore and offshore teams, and across incumbent/incoming vendors.
• Support the delivery team's shift toward quarterly (QTR) release cycles.
• Manage delivery using both Agile and Waterfall approaches as required by the workstream.
• Track and report on transition progress using Jira and Confluence.
• Proactively challenge existing ways of working.

About You

• Proven Senior PM experience delivering large-scale enterprise technology transformation, ideally with exposure to system migrations, vendor transitions, or build-to-run handovers
• Experience managing multi-vendor delivery (incumbent-to-incoming transitions) is highly desirable
• Strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills — able to build trust quickly with onshore and offshore teams and multiple vendors
• Proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter, comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited handover documentation
• Confident challenging established practices and driving process improvement in a less mature delivery environment
