Job summary

UGL is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical in Melbourne, VIC, to lead delivery of mechanical services for hyperscale data centres. You'll own design through handover, coordinate HVAC systems, and manage subcontractors while partnering with clients, consultants and internal teams to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.

You'll bring a degree in Mechanical Engineering and proven experience delivering complex projects, with strong communication, planning and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering mechanical services on major projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and critical cooling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical services packages from design through handover.
• Manage and coordinate mechanical subcontractors to meet safety, quality and programme goals.
• Drive coordination of HVAC, chilled water networks and mechanical plant.
• Coordinate interfaces across disciplines (MEP, controls, ICT, BMS, fire).
• Review designs for constructability and mitigate risks.
• Monitor performance and contribute to schedule, cost and reporting.
• Support procurement, cost management and contract administration.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships with clients and partners.
