Job summary

ABI Civil Contractors is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our project delivery team in the Hunter Region. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of key project packages, manage subcontractors and stakeholders, and drive safe, quality infrastructure delivery across major civil works.

You'll demonstrate proven experience in senior or project engineer roles within civil construction, with strong forecasting, cost control and delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer role within civil construction.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor management, forecasting, cost control and project delivery.
• Able to work independently, take ownership and drive outcomes.
• Confident managing competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Looking to continue developing their career and take the next step within a growing civil contractor.
• Practical, proactive and solutions focused.
• Experience across roads, utilities, renewable energy, substations, data centres or commercial civil projects will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead project engineering activities and drive project outcomes.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Monitor programme, costs, quality and project performance.
• Support contract administration, procurement and project reporting.
• Mentor Project Engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
