Job summary

Foundation Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join a growing commercial construction business in Perth or Darwin. You will work with the Project Manager and team to deliver high-value projects, ensuring quality and timely outcomes.

The role requires several years in commercial construction, strong documentation skills, and the ability to manage consultants, subcontractors and procurement. A related degree is essential.

• Ability to work collaboratively with site and project teams.
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.

Foundation Recruitment is currently working on a confidential search for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join an established and growing construction business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, working across high-value commercial construction projects with a business that values quality delivery, strong relationships and technical excellence.

Commercial construction experience is essential — this is not a resources/mining position.

The Role

As Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to support the successful delivery of major commercial construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion
• Managing project documentation, programming and project controls
• Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management
• Managing variations, RFIs, EOTs and project correspondence
• Monitoring project costs, quality, programme and compliance
• Reviewing technical documentation and resolving construction issues
• Working closely with site teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
• Supporting the Project Manager with overall project delivery and commercial outcomes

About You

We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer with a genuine commercial construction background who understands what it takes to deliver complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Several years' experience as a Project Engineer within commercial construction
• Experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and project processes
• Solid understanding of contracts, procurement and project commercial management
• Strong documentation and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with site and project teams
• A relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline

Experience across commercial, government, defence, education, health, institutional or similar construction projects will be highly regarded.
