Stellar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for a well-established Perth civil contractor to deliver FRP concrete infrastructure projects in the metro area. Projects up to $50 million and a strong MRWA/PTA pipeline offer a stable, long-term career.

You’ll own delivery with a hands-on team, focusing on FRP reinforced concrete, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor coordination, with no FIFO requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with civil contractors.
• Demonstrated FRP concrete experience and exposure to reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of Australian civil standards, specifications, contracts and methods.
• Experience on projects up to $10m-$50m in Australia, the UK, or NZ is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of civil projects valued up to $50m across MRWA and PTA works.
• Coordinate FRP concrete works including methodology, sequencing, reinforcement, formwork and installation.
• Manage RFIs, ITPs, QA documentation, procurement and subcontractor coordination.
• Assist with budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
• Develop short-term programs, procurement schedules and lookahead plans.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and clients.
• Identify risks, technical issues and commercial impacts early.
• Ensure works meet safety, quality and contractual requirements.

Job description

A well-established Perth civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong FRP concrete expertise to support the delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects across Perth’s metro region. With a strong pipeline of MRWA/PTA-related works and projects valued up to $50 million, this is a permanent full-time opportunity with a reputable local contractor currently in an exciting growth phase. The business has approximately 75 staff and offers a practical, hands-on environment where strong engineers can take genuine ownership of project delivery, commercial performance, subcontractor coordination, and technical FRP outcomes, without the need for FIFO work.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior management, you’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and driving the successful delivery of civil construction projects with a strong focus on FRP reinforced concrete structures, alongside associated civil and earthworks scopes. This role will suit a capable Senior Project Engineer who is technically strong, commercially aware, and ready to step into a high-impact delivery position on challenging metro projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support delivery of civil construction projects valued up to $50m mainly across MRWA and PTA infrastructure works
• Coordinate FRP concrete works including methodology, sequencing, reinforcement, formwork, and installation activities
• Manage project engineering requirements including RFIs, ITPs, QA documentation, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
• Assist with budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, claims, variations, and monthly reporting
• Develop and maintain short-term programs, procurement schedules, and lookahead plans
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives
• Identify and manage project risks, technical issues, and commercial impacts early
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, environmental, and contractual requirements

About You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with civil contractors
• Demonstrated experience with FRP concrete, reinforced concrete structures, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, or similar infrastructure scopes
• Strong understanding of Australian civil construction standards, specifications, contracts, and methodologies
• Commercially aware with solid cost control, reporting, and subcontractor management skills
• Experience on projects valued up to $10m-$50m in Australia, the UK, or New Zealand will be highly regarded
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with site teams, clients, consultants, and senior management
• Motivated to build a long-term career with a local Perth contractor in a permanent metro-based role
