Aurecon seeks a Senior Engineer in Power Systems in Brisbane to lead grid connection studies for renewable energy projects and to develop EMT models for inverter-based resources. You will engage with clients, developers and regulators and provide technical leadership across power system studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 6+ years experience in power systems engineering, preferably in Australian NEM.
• RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute generator, battery energy storage, solar and wind farm grid connection studies in accordance with AEMO, NSP and NER requirements.
• Develop and validate RMS and EMT models for inverter-based resources and network assets.
• Perform power system studies including load flow, fault level, dynamic stability, system strength, harmonic and EMT analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and support R0/R1/R2 modelling and GPS compliance processes.
• Interface with developers, OEMs, network service providers, AEMO and other stakeholders during the connection process.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance for power system studies and deliverables.
• Support project development, due diligence and technical advisory services for renewable energy and transmission projects.
