Job summary

Pacific Energy in Brisbane is seeking Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineers to support power system studies, grid connections and system optimisation as part of the Design & Engineering team. The role offers leadership opportunities for Principal-level candidates and the chance to influence engineering outcomes across the business.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver modelling, validation and compliant grid connection studies in Australia’s energy markets, while advancing

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in power, utilities or energy sector.
• RPEQ, NER and/or CPEng accreditation is advantageous.
• Experience with grid connection studies in Australian markets is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver power system modelling and analysis activities across a range of generation, renewable energy and microgrid projects.
• Execute and review power system studies using software such as PSS®E, PSCAD and PowerFactory.
• Support model development, validation, benchmarking and cross-platform model conversion activities.
• Undertake grid connection studies and support compliance requirements across Australian electricity markets.
• Complete system sizing, design validation and power system tuning studies.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with project, operational and commercial teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, standards and regulatory changes impacting the energy sector.
