Job summary

ElectraNet is seeking a full-time Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our Network Capability team in Adelaide, SA. The role focuses on power system modelling, analysis and technical advice for the high‑voltage transmission network, supporting secure and reliable operation.

The successful candidate will work on inverter‑dominated network challenges, perform contingency, transfer, voltage and system strength studies, and contribute to network augmentation projects while applying Python and data

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Extensive experience in transmission power system engineering.
Hands-on experience with power system analysis tools (PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD).
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Chartered status or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop, validate and maintain power system models using industry tools.
Carry out system capability and security assessments (transfer limits, voltage, frequency).
Deliver operational planning studies and contingency analyses.
Support generator, load and storage connection studies.
Provide technical advice for network augmentation projects and regulatory alignment.
Apply Python, automation and data analytics to improve study repeatability.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
